Countryside Springers

We welcome you to "Countryside Springers", our website representing our family of English Springer Spaniels, in addition to their litters of puppies. Our family has been raising English Springer Spaniels for almost 20 years...and they have brought great joy and companionship to our family! English Springer Spaniels are great canines....very warm, friendly, loyal, and intelligent dogs. English Springers make great family pets, in addition to some of the best hunters in the open fields and water....they are agile, athletic, and have "great noses"! They are also an ideal size...approximately 40-50 pounds, making them easy to transport whether its to the beach on a family vacation or to the rural hunting areas.

We live in the equestrian countryside of north Leesburg, VA and have over 7 acres of historic land our Springers roam on....in addition to several adjacent acres, therefore, naming our site "Countryside Springers".

Our Springers!

Above are our current Springers...."Dory", our tri-color liver & white female; "Duke", our black & white male; and "Casey", our black & white female. "Roxy" is our liver & white female  and comes with an outstanding pedigree including  many champion Springers. Roxy "holds her own" with the older dogs, as you can see in some of the "Other Pictures".

"Elin" (female) and "Gurkan" (male) just recently joined our family! They are both dark liver / brown and white and were born in Sweden. For the past year I researched many European breeders and was glad to meet Maria Helena Johansson and Pia Martikainen. Maria has a website at www.kenneltouchmoore.dinstudio.se and it's easy to see why I was very happy to find her....she not only breeds world champion quality English Springer Spaniels, but also trains and shows some of the most beautiful English Springer Spaniels in the world. She recently had one of her Springers win "Best in Show", and it happens to be Elin's mom! You can see the "darker" liver color, in addition to the "heavy ticking" or freckles as we say in America! Elin also won best puppy in show at 16 weeks old prior to coming to the USA! Her official Swedish name is "Touchmoore Rite on Dream" Her entire bloodline are champions in many European countries (Sweden, Denmark, Norway) in addition to International Champions! Maria located Pia, and was able to help me acquire Gurkan.

Pia's website is www.lillablidkulla.se  Gurkan is a very beautiful male, and also has many European champions in his bloodline. Pia is another outstanding breeder in Sweden, and also has several Springers with Swedish, Norway, Denmark, in addition to International titles. If you go to either of the websites, the Swedish term for "puppies" is "Valpar". Both Maria and Pia have indicated the puppies which I acquired, Gurkan and Elin, have been "best of friends" for several months now...

Needless to say, I am very happy with both Elin and Gurkan....Casey, Dory, Duke and Roxy were also excited to have new "friends" in the USA, and all six Springers have a great time at Countryside Springers in Leesburg, VA.

We are currently expecting three litters!

Roxy and Duke mated August 1, and puppies were born October 3rd. Roxy had five liver & white, in addition to two black & white springers!

Dory and Gurkan mated in mid-August, and puppies were born October 16th. Dory had four females and three males, all liver & white.

Elin and Gurkan also mated in late August, with puppies due late October and ready for new homes in December (Christmas!)

Needless to say the house will be busy with puppies starting in october through Christmas! We are now taking deposits on all litters.

It's amazing how small they are at birth, yet 8 short weeks later they are "running and playing" and ready for a new home.
